Spanish solar energy specialist Soltec Power Holdings SA (BME:SOL) said on Wednesday that it has signed an agreement with Greek industrial group Mytilineos SA (FRA:MYH) to supply its trackers for a 130-MW solar farm project in Romania.
The order includes the supply of Soltec’s easy to assemble SF7 trackers with a 2-in-portrait configuration. The SF7 tracker model has 54% fewer piles compared to its main competitors and 58% fewer parts, which allows for faster installation, according to the Spanish manufacturer.
The solar farm will be located in Giurgiu County, southern Romania. It will be equipped with a total of 3,083 SF7 trackers and 227,240 modules.
Soltec is expected to complete the delivery in 2023. The solar farm will be commissioned for Greek power utility PPC SA (ATH:PPC), Soltec said.
The project is Soltec’s second in the Romanian market and its largest in the country to date. It also reunites the company with Mytilineos, enabling the two to close nearly 900 MW worth of supplies globally, Soltec CEO Raul Morales added.
